Halong Bay is the 8th wonder of the world. Board the Orchid junk for a cruise with an overnight stay. Settle into your cabin as the junk sets sail for Lan Ha Bay’s 400 islands, a lesser-known area of the bay, with its floating houses and fish farms. Lunch on board. Riddled with caves and ghostly karst peaks, the bay also hides unexpected lagoons and sandy beaches. Opportunity for swimming or kayaking in emerald waters. From the upper deck, enjoy the sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin. Optional massage.

After breakfast, launch canoes towards Toi Sang cave, a tangle of stalagmites, stalactites, and long limestone columns.
Return to the junk for brunch served before disembarking at Dinh Vu port. Return journey to Hanoi, which you will reach in the mid-afternoon.

Morning stroll in the heart of Hanoi, around the “Restored Sword” lake and its Jade Mountain temple. By cyclo-pousse, visit the 36 Guild Streets district. Opportunity to try your hand at the art of calligraphy before lunch (at leisure) in a “Pho” restaurant.
Other visits: the Temple of Literature, the garden of the former Governor of Indochina’s Palace, the One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house… up to the old Paul Doumer bridge designed according to Gustave Eiffel’s plans. On Banana Island, you can sip sugarcane juice while watching the sunset over the Red River Delta.

At dawn, numerous monks collect alms from villagers. A surprising spectacle to complement, at your own pace, with a stroll through the market, a visit to the national museum (former royal palace), and the city’s main temples. After lunch at leisure, feel free to get lost in the narrow alleys of the peninsula, a showcase of colonial times with old houses sleeping in the shade of palm trees. Mount Phousi is the ideal perch to watch the sunset over the city.

Rice cultivation is a common visual spectacle in Asia. In the heart of the countryside, you will discover all its stages, from seed selection, planting, transplanting seedlings… to harvesting, not forgetting to learn about the most common local agricultural machine, the water buffalo! Continue the day on the other side of the Mekong, in the botanical gardens of Pha Tad Ke island, in the company of a specialist of this impressive 7-hectare green space dedicated to local flora.

The most adventurous will start the day with a visit to the Museum of Ethnology of Laos, where over 60 ethnic groups are represented, and discover the temples of the small village of Ban Xieng Maene, which boasts two superb monasteries: Wat Long Khoun and Wat Chom Pet.
After lunch at leisure, you will be driven to the famous and refreshing Kuang Si Falls, for a spectacle of great beauty. This favorite spot for Luang Prabang locals is a blessed place during hot weather.

Visit the National Museum and its two-story galleries, an essential place to discover before or after visiting the Angkor site: collections partly from the Angkor Conservation and some educational films help to better understand the history of Khmer civilization.

Morning exploration of Angkor Thom, a vast architectural complex accessed by five monumental gates, with the Bayon mountain temple at its center, famous for its towers with 172 faces of Avalokiteshvara. The visit continues with Prasat Baphuon and its large reclining Buddha. Stroll through the enclosure of the ancient Royal Palace where the Phimeanakas sanctuary is located before arriving at the Terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King.
Lunch at leisure, then visit Ta Prohm, an ancient monastery whose ruins lie in the arms of Mother Nature who has taken possession of it. It is one of the most important buildings in Angkor.
Short gondola cruise on the Tonlé Oum from Angkor Thom’s south gate to the west gate at sunset. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

Departure for a boat trip on the great Tonlé Sap Lake and its floating villages. A true inland sea, classified as a Biosphere by UNESCO in 1997 due to the incredible diversity of its ecosystem. Visit the production workshops of a social enterprise benefiting village women around Siem Reap.
Lunch at leisure followed by a visit to Banteay Srei, a small pink sandstone temple sumptuously carved and often considered the jewel of Khmer art.

When to visit Laos?
From November to February, the weather is generally drier and temperatures are milder. March and April are often hotter. The rainy season, from May to October, brings lush green landscapes; we adapt the itinerary and transport to local conditions.

Laos covers 236,800 km² and had a population of around 7.9 million in 2025. Its capital is Vientiane, its official language is Lao and its currency is the Lao kip (LAK). Theravada Buddhism is the main religion. The country is in the UTC+7 time zone.

Lao culture
Theravada Buddhism has an important place in Laos, alongside a variety of cultural traditions. In Luang Prabang, the monks’ morning alms round is a religious ritual to observe with discretion and respect. Boun Pi Mai, Lao New Year in April, and Boun Ok Phansa, which marks the end of the Buddhist rains retreat, are among the events that shape the year.
