Morning journey to Oudomxay province, in the heart of the mountains of northern Laos where many ethnic minorities live. In the streets of Oudomxay, Chinese and Vietnamese vendors mingle with numerous villagers from diverse ethnic groups, who come to stock up.
Check-in at Nam Kat Yorla Pa, an eco-lodge nestled in the forest; lunch served facing the Nam Kat River. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

After a 15-minute drive along the Nam Pak River, bordered by terraced rice fields and small villages, arrive at Pak Khai, the starting point for the day’s hike.
A morning walk, which we particularly enjoy, leads to Ban Phavie, a magnificent Khamu village located on top of a hill. Lunch in the village. Interactions with villagers and their daily activities in rice fields, fishing, or small game hunting.
On the way back, a rest stop and swim in a clear-water waterfall. Return to Nam Kat Yorla Pa in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

A day of encounters with three typical communities of northern Laos: Khamu, Hmong, and Akha. At an altitude of 1000 m, the 4×4 track reveals a beautiful viewpoint over the valley.
With your guide, you will go from a Khamu village to a Hmong village, an ethnic group originating from the high steppes of Tibet. The Hmong live in total harmony with nature and deeply respect pigs, buffaloes, and other animals very present in their way of life.
Picnic lunch, then return to the resort, passing through an Akha village, people originating from Yunnan and Tibet.

Embark in Muang Khua aboard your private boat. This descent of the Nam Ou to Nong Khiaw is the most beautiful river descent in the region. Picnic lunch served on a sandy beach. Magnificent karst formations emerge from the water as you approach Nong Khiaw, where a private vehicle awaits to take you to Luang Prabang. A religious center of great importance, this ancient royal city is an immense museum.

This beautiful day begins at dawn: the monks leave their temples and cross the city to collect donations offered by villagers. A colorful and silent spectacle not to be missed! With a private guide, a la carte visit of the main religious buildings: Wat Aham and Wat Visoun, the oldest in the city, the watermelon-shaped one, the monastery of the Buddha’s Footprint, Wat Visoun built in 1504 and restored by Henri Mouhot, the famous restorer of Angkor, and many others. The city has more than thirty of them. Lunch at leisure. Sunset is the ideal time to climb the very popular Mount Phousi overlooking the city, an effort rewarded with a unique viewpoint over the city. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

A day dedicated to rice, the staple food in Laos. Its production will hold no more secrets for you: grain selection, sowing, transplanting cuttings… At each stage, you will learn to use the strength of a dear friend to every farmer: the water buffalo, an indispensable partner in the absence of modern tools.
After this fun time, you will be invited to enjoy a picnic prepared by Soum Noum, one of the city’s best restaurants, and served at the foot of the magnificent Kuang Si waterfalls. A short hike is possible to discover the terraced waterfalls.
Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

This morning, depart by boat for the Pak Ou caves, located 30km upstream from Luang Prabang. A sacred site, for centuries these caves have been revered by the Laotians who have deposited hundreds of sculpted Buddhas over the centuries. Free time for lunch in one of the many restaurants with a view of the river.
During the return cruise, stop at the small village of Ban Xieng Maene and visit its two main monasteries. Return to Luang Prabang, at the time when the golden roofs of the temples glow. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

Early morning departure for Vang Vieng via a beautiful country road. This town at the gateway to the south boasts extraordinary natural beauty. Stop at the very colorful markets of the villages of Phoukhoune and Ban Houn Xay. Lunch at leisure in a local restaurant. As you approach the Vang Vieng district, beautiful karst cliffs covered with lush vegetation can be observed from the village of Phatang.
Check-in at the hotel by the Nam Song River and embark on a short cruise before dinner. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

Mid-morning, depart for Vientiane, the country’s capital. We leave the mountains towards Nam Ngum Lake, the country’s first hydroelectric reservoir, impressive in its size, a kind of sea that the Laotians do not have.
Lunch at leisure with lake fish, in a restaurant by this vast expanse of water and its islets, where it is possible to stroll or swim.
Arrive in Vientiane in the late afternoon. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

By tuk-tuk, a morning of street food discovery: kao larm, a delicious traditional dish made from sticky rice and coconut, roasted in a bamboo tube. Pass through the Thong Khan Kham fresh produce market before lunch at a local restaurant whose mission is to provide training for street children. The kitchen’s backstage is open to you!
In the afternoon, you will make makbeng and pasaat peung, offerings composed of banana leaves and wax flowers, which you can offer to the Buddha of Wat Si Muang, Vientiane’s most revered temple.

Stop: Vientiane

20 minutes from the city towards Tad Leuk waterfall, the path runs through a dense and humid forest, sometimes alongside the river. Accompanied by two local guides and your orchid expert, you will hike this little-frequented route, in unspoiled nature.
Two hours later, the beautiful Tad Saang waterfall will be the ideal picnic spot with a large pool for swimming. The second part of the trek delves into a green setting where beautiful orchids are discovered… Return to Vientiane. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

Stops: Pakse, The Bolovens Plateau

Flight to Pakse. Welcome by a local guide specializing in the South. Lunch at leisure in town, then drive to the Bolovens.
To the southwest of the Annamite mountain range, which marks the border with Vietnam, the landscape consists only of plateaus and plains suitable for agriculture and livestock. The cool climate, numerous waterfalls, and fertile volcanic soils yield coffee, fruits, cardamom, and rattan cultivated by the ethnic minorities of the region.
In season, discover a coffee plantation then hike to the impressive Tad Fan falls, among the largest in Laos, or swim at Tad Yeaung waterfall before reaching your hotel located in the heart of the plateau. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.

Stages: The Bolaven Plateau, Champassak

Departing from Done Khong island, navigate towards Don Det and Don Khone islands for a one and a half hour cruise on the Mekong in the 4000 Islands towards Khone Phapheng, where the river breaks into a series of falls over 14m high. The largest in Southeast Asia.
Lunch break in Done Khone before visiting the island and its Devil’s Falls, then a pirogue ride among islets and rapids, in one of Southeast Asia’s most beautiful river landscapes.
In the late afternoon, return to your hotel in Champassak. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel.
